π₯ Data Science and Real-World Context in the Age of AI
The recording of our recent webinar was shared in the Data Scientists User Group on October 5th. Senior Product Manager, Alex Arotsker, and Head of Graph Data Science, Ben Houghton, explored why real-world context matters for data science in the age of AI, and Lead Data Scientist, Christina Eleftheriou, joined them to demonstrate Q Knowledge Graph and multi-hop graph analysis on a supply chain use case.
π New in the Platform Library
The Platform Library gained several practical resources for teams delivering and running Quantexa projects.
- Running Quantexa with Databricks, a guide for teams deploying the Batch Tier on Databricks. It covers cluster access mode, why Photon rarely speeds up Quantexa jobs, running jobs as JAR tasks, and how to keep costs down with job compute.
- UI configuration guides, including Glyph Configuration Options and A Guide to UI Configuration, for anyone involved in UI requirements and design.
- Two additions to our Entity Resolution performance guidance, Checking the Underlying Data Storage: Elasticsearch and Focusing on the Application Tier, which cover merging segments after batch loads and enabling the resolver cache.
π Academy Updates
Learners and programme owners had a busy month on the Academy side.
- Quantexa Platform Architecture (QPA) Release 2 is now available, a new version of the core technical training for all Quantexa Architects.
- Quantexa Data Engineer Velocity R2 offers accelerated, instructor-led training for future Quantexa Data Engineers.
- On the Architects Blog, Updating the Quantexa Platform Academy explains what goes on behind the scenes when the platform evolves, and the QPA has to keep pace.
Closing the Loop on Your Feedback
