The majority of Quantexa News Intelligence customers require news data for risk or market intelligence use cases.

News is a critical data source for early identification and proactive monitoring of risk types across an organization’s entire risk landscape. It provides a critical component across the risk management lifecycle of Identify, Assess, Control, and Monitor, particularly for non-financial risks, such as operational, enterprise, third-party, supply chain, and ESG risk. Regulatory and standards bodies have already started to recommend, and even require, the use of news in risk management.

With Quantexa News Intelligence, organizations can filter global news to focus only on relevant news articles. For example, a search query can combine defined entities (e.g. a list of suppliers, and the countries they operate in) with topical categories (e.g. supply chain logistics issues, or civil unrest), so that the organization can proactively monitor risks, and act fast before a risk turns into a crisis.

Market intelligence also has a need for comprehensive and reliable news data, particularly in the areas of media monitoring, competitive intelligence, and even sales intelligence. For example a global manufacturer can track their competitors in the news to discover product announcements, reviews, and overall media sentiment, which is vital for their own strategy.

The integration of news data generally takes place in two ways: data for training machine learning models, and data to power news feeds in applications.
