Tags group together content related to a specific subject – they categorize the content and make it easier to find. If you don’t know where to start looking for information on a specific subject, tags are a great place to start.
How to tag a post:
Up to 10 tags can be added to a post.
Underneath the content box there is a ‘Tags’ box, simply start typing in this box to see options for tags:
Or select ‘Show popular tags’ (under the Tags text box) and select the relevant tags:
If a tag doesn’t exist, you can submit an idea for it to be added in the Ideas Portal – don’t forget to tag your idea with ‘Community Idea’ 😉
How to see content relating to a specific tag:
There are multiple ways to see content relating to a particular tag.
Click a tag from the ‘Popular Tags’ widgets:
These can be found on the Homepage and on Topic pages on the right-hand panel.
Click on a tag from the discussion list or the post itself:
In discussions lists (found on the Homepage, All Discussions page and within each Topic), tags appear under the summary of the post. Click these to be taken to a page filtered to content from that tag.
In a post, tags will appear under the main content, click these to be taken to a page filtered to content from that tag.
Filter the ‘All Discussions’ page to show a particular tag:
Under the Recent Discussions heading you will see a ‘Filters’ button. Select this, in the pop-up that appears there is a ‘Tags’ filter. Either type what you are looking for or select the drop-down arrow and browse tags.
Filter Search results to show a particular tag:
Type your query into the search bar, select ‘Discussions’ from the navigation bar under your search query – on the right there are additional filters that can be applied including ‘Tags’. Read our tip on How to maximize your search results on Community for more help with search.
